The articulating track-driven boom lift, one of the first of its kind in the country is being used by Boulet Bâtiment is a building contractor based in Azincourt, Pas-de-Calais region, Northern France. The company acquired the Genie Z-62/40 TraX after its manager spotted it in a press report and contacted Genie.

According to the Terex access equipment specialist, it promptly got its dealer for the region into the act, who explained in detail the relevance of a track-mounted boom lift – “a productive and valuable solution for its customer’s various projects”.

In addition to the machine’s unique and patented Genie TraX system that features four independent triangular tracks at each corner of the unit — allowing it go virtually anywhere when the going gets tough — the Genie Z-62/40 TraX articulating boom is also spec’d for efficiency, productivity and versatility, said Genie.

The model has a maximum working height of 20.87m, a max horizontal outreach of 12.42m, max articulating height of 7.8m and a 227kg lift capacity. Genie adds that the Z-62/40 TraX has true 4WD capabilities and 45% gradeability. It also comes with a continuous active oscillating axle that maintains all tracks on the ground on uneven terrain.

The model’s articulating boom comes with Genie’s Dual Parallelogram design that allows operators to work parallel to walls and facades while the boom is elevated, reducing the need to reposition the machine.

Genie added that the Z-62/40 TraX’s jib can articulate 1.52m and has 135° vertical rotation for high-precision operator positioning. A Genie Fast Mast system ensures high speed boom extension to max height, or from max height back to ground level.

Boulet Bâtiment also chose the Z-62/40 TraX for its excellent rough terrain capabilities, manoeuvrability, ease-of-use and flexibility, added Genie.
